Though plasma donations involve sharp needles, they benefit one's community.

Unless you have a low threshold of pain, donating plasma is a relatively painless procedure that puts money in your pocket while also benefiting others.

    Compensation

  1. At many plasma donation centers, donors are compensated for the time required to make their donation. Once a plasma donor has completed an initial visit, a standard plasma donation procedure requires little more than 45 minutes to complete.
  2. Rapid Replinishment

  3. Unlike blood, plasma can be rapidly replenished in a donor's system following a plasma donation. For this reason, subjects are legally permitted to donate plasma once every two days in the U.S.
  4. Life-Saving Potential

  5. The key reason why plasma is valued is because it can be used to create medicines as well as to help victims who are involved in life-threatening emergencies.
  6. Physical Screening

  7. By donating plasma, a donor is encouraged to be in good health. Despite the fact that donors are cautioned not to interpret screening results as being conclusive, each donor receives a physical screening before donating plasma. These screenings are free and help to verify a donor's health.
  8. Community

  9. Donation centers are frequented by intriguing characters, who range from people who are subsisting on welfare to college students who are interested in earning extra cash. Donors tend to converse with each other and with staff at plasma donation centers as they wait for the donation process to be completed, thus fostering a unique community.
