What Are Reiki Sacred Symbols?
Reiki, an alternative system of healing, deals with four consecrated symbols that are used by the masters to focus healing energy on a specific person or a specific body part.
-
Choku-Rei
-
This symbol denotes power, and it is used to increase the potential of power in the healer to transmit the flow of healing energy, or "ki," into the person receiving the healing.
Seiheki
-
This pious symbol is used to denote emotional healing. It is used for individuals who have gone through some form of distress or mental agony. It is said to bring about feelings of love, poise and peace; hence, this is also known as the love symbol.
-
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen
-
This holy Reiki symbol is referred to as the distance symbol. It is used to send holistic healing to people living in distant places. The syllable means, "The higher being in me reaches out to the higher being in you."
Dai Ko Myo
-
This is the ultimate master symbol. It serves as the final ultimatum and is used to remove pain and suffering inflicted on the patient. It combines the energies of all the three symbols and acts on a more subtle level.
Representation of Symbols
-
These Reiki symbols are represented in Japanese fonts and are considered to be extremely sacred and confidential, lest they be misused by the unscrupulous and the symbols lose their sanctity.
