Mobic Versus Celebrex
Mobic and Celebrex are both anti-inflammatory medications commonly prescribed for joint pain associated with arthritis, though both may cause side effects.
-
Identification
-
Mobic is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works to reduce the inflammation caused by conditions such as arthritis.
Effects
-
The use of NSAID medicines, such as Mobic, can increase your chance of developing circulation problems, heart attack and stroke, and severe gastrointestinal conditions can develop suddenly and without warning. Contact your doctor immediately if you have black or bloody stools or cough up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. Older adults are at a greater risk of developing gastrointestinal conditions, and in some cases, they may be fatal.

Identification
-
Celebrex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and is prescribed in the treatment of joint pain associated with arthritis.
Effects
-
Like Mobic, the use of Celebrex has been associated with side effects such as gastrointestinal conditions and heart-related conditions. These can occur without warning and may often be fatal. Contact your doctor if you experience chest pain, swelling of the face, bloody stools, heart palpitations or depression, or if you vomit blood.
Warning
-
As with any medication, contact your doctor immediately if you experience hives, swelling of the tongue or throat, wheezing or have difficulty breathing with the use of Celebrex or Mobic, as this may indicate a life-threatening allergic reaction. The use of Mobic or Celebrex is not recommended for anyone having coronary by-pass surgery. Both of these medications may cause a thinning of the blood and may increase your chance of bleeding.
