What are the Criteria for a Job As a Fitness Trainer?
Starting a career as a fitness trainer can be very rewarding in several ways. Staying at the top of your fitness requirements and staying constantly active will improve your overall well-being and help to prevent future health risks. In addition, if you're a people person, the motivation you give your clients may help to motivate you further in your training.

Customer Service

Being a fitness trainer, you will have to interact with people on a day to day basis, so you must exhibit good customer service skills. Smiling, being a good listener, being able to explain things in detail and having patience are just a few of the qualities you'll have to exhibit. This is vital in establishing a long-lasting clientele.
Education

Some gyms and fitness centers do not require any specific level of education, although some require a basic high school diploma or its equivalent. In addition, other gyms may require you to present a personal training certificate in order to apply.

Training

Basic training is required on training design, teaching and instruction methods to both individuals and groups, and knowledge of basic psychology (personality, ability, interest and behavioral disorders) is required. You may receive this training after you are hired on. You will also need basic knowledge on how to use the gym's equipment.
Stamina

As a trainer, you will constantly be active, so you will have be in tip top shape in order to motivate your client. The ability to do the exercises that you teach your client is required as you will have to provide an example of how to do these regimes. You will need to also have to exercise for long durations without getting winded.
Strength

You will have to demonstrate the ability to use several of your body parts repeatedly over long periods of time without getting sore, or developing muscle fatigue. This requires you to have trunk, static and dynamic strength.
