Duties of a Pastor's Aide

Pastor's aides are sometimes called armor-bearers. This title denotes the type of service the aide performs. He cares for the busy pastor's needs during his ministration even when he travels. This position is a servant-type ministry given to the most trusted, mature Christians.

  1. Attendant

    • As a pastor's aide you would serve as attendant to the pastor. This can be exemplified by carrying the pastor's books and water to drink on the podium.

    Escorts

    • Pastor's aides escort the pastor to his parking space when he enters and exits a building. He may also drive the pastor long distances if required.

    Confirm Bookings

    • The aide works with the office staff to ensure that all travel bookings have been confirmed and that the pastor's accommodations are secure. He may also call churches the pastor will be visiting to confirm upcoming speaking schedules.

    Research

    • Some pastors enlist the help of their aides to research topics for them. While pastors do most of their study individually, some subjects may require additional research help.
