Cons of a Memory Foam Mattress
Memory foam is a familiar choice to mattress buyers; however, the unique foam construction that gives support to a body in rest, has some downsides for that very reason. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Overheating
-
Memory foam is somewhat dependent on temperature, so the mattress takes heat from a body and doesn't disperse it. However, there are some brands that claim to address this issue.
Adjustability
-
Lighter people may find that they don't have enough weight to compress the foam into a comfortable position.
-
Odor
-
Memory foam has an odor for the first few weeks; this may be distracting.
Getting Used to It
-
For some, it takes time to get comfortable sleeping on the mattress, and after a while, it gets harder for them to sleep on regular mattresses.
Other Considerations
-
Memory foam also takes longer to become malleable in a cold room. If you get out of bed in the middle of the night, it will take time to get comfortable again.
