What Is a Pitcher Plant on Virtual Villagers?

"Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City" is a game in which the player guides a small group of islanders in developing a society, exploring ancient ruins and solving puzzles. Some of the puzzles in the game involve using plants to create magical potions. The pitcher plant is one of the most useful.

Finding the Pitcher Plant

In order to find the pitcher plant, you must have researched level two in the Nature faction development path. It should then appear near the research room.

Picking the Pitcher Plant

In order to gather the pitcher plant, drag a villager and drop him on the plant, just like the way you gather any other ingredients.

Banishing the Sharks

The most important use for the pitcher plant is to banish the sharks that prevent you from fishing. Mix the pitcher plant and two black orchids. Drop some villagers on the pot and they will carry it to the sea, banishing the sharks and allowing you to fish for food.

Other Uses

Mixing two pitcher plants with a rose, lotus or cactus will make a sick person feel better, while mixing it with a rose and a lotus will make the drinker more fertile.

What to Avoid

Almost all of the other combinations involving the pitcher plant will make your villager sick or stop her from working for a while. The pitcher plant is one of the more dangerous alchemy ingredients.
