Attaching to Sheetrock
-
Towel racks come in many different designs, but all attach to the wall in basically the same way. An anchor is drilled through the Sheetrock, and the rack is placed over the anchor. These anchors may also come with plastic inserts to be placed into the Sheetrock prior to inserting the anchor.
Attaching to Tile or Cement
-
Towel bars may also be attached to surfaces such as tile. Use a "spade" drill bit, which is made for tile, and slowly apply pressure to allow room to insert Liquid Nails into the hole. Then insert the wall anchors and attach your towel rack. This same process can also be repeated for attaching towel racks to cement walls.
