Springform pans commonly come in 9- and 10-inch sizes. Mini pans which commonly come in 3- to 5- inch sizes are ideal for personal deserts. Springform pans also come in square and rectangle shapes. These sizes are rarely seen in retail outlets and can be specially ordered.

There is no mistaking a springform pan. The pan has two fasteners on each side that retracts and a removable bottom. These features are so foods can be removed from the pan with easiness. Despite its removable features, the pan is able to securely hold batter without leakage. Stainless steel and nonstick metal are two of the materials the pan comes in. Some pans come with a glass bottom.
