Risk factors for osteonecrosis of the jaw associated with Fosamax and other bisphosphonates include cancer, chemotherapy, steroids and radiation therapy, particularly to the head or neck. Radiation to the jaw area can cause similar effects without taking bisphosphonates.
Dental History
