Job Description for a High Pressure Cleaner


Most high-pressure cleaners work for a contract cleaning company that offers high-pressure cleaning services as needed. In most cases, they work part time.


  • Under general supervision, high-pressure cleaners operate high-pressure cleaning equipment and wash areas assigned to them. This includes using other cleaning materials and chemicals to achieve desired results of cleaning and sanitation.


  • High-pressure cleaners typically clean large equipment, motor vehicles, buildings, concrete areas and windows. In some cases, high-pressure cleaners work with hazardous-waste removal to ensure public safety.


  • Most high-pressure cleaners are required to have a high-school diploma or GED and some practical experience. Training, which includes safe work practices, is done on the job during a probationary period.

Work Environment

  • High-pressure cleaners work indoors and outdoors, mainly in moderate or high temperatures. Because of the nature of their responsibilities, their work normally requires temperatures above freezing.

  • The job outlook for cleaning occupations is expected to increase for the period from 2012 t0 2012 at about the average rate for all jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In most cases, salaries range between $20,000 and $40,000 per year, according to
