Uses for Recycled Aluminum Cans
Aluminum cans, sometimes called soda or pop cans, can create a large amount of garbage very quickly. These containers have a multitude of uses in the arts and crafts world that can prevent them from being sent to the garbage or recycling bin.

Candle Holders
-
A candle holder can be constructed from aluminum cans by cutting around the mouth of the can and sanding down any rough edges. Decorative designs can be created in the can by puncturing it with a sharp object or tin punch.

Garden Tags
-
Identify the plants in your garden with tags made from aluminum cans. Cut the aluminum can, open it and flatten it. Use a ballpoint pen without ink to emboss the names of your plants upon the tags. Cut the tags to resemble a square with a tapered point to easily plant in the soil.
Room Divider
-
Create privacy within a room by gluing hundreds of soda cans together. The cans need to be whole, clean and uncrushed to accomplish a room divider. However, crushed cans can be strung on a piece of wire to create a unique set of door beads.
Purses, Bags and Wallets
-
By cutting open, flattening and sanding any sharp edges, you can fold soda cans into accessories to hold your personal effects. Metal brads or rivets suffice to hold the projects together.
Tiles
-
Some people have taken the idea of recycling cans to the extreme and used them as tiles to decorate areas of their house. One place where this works particularly well is as a kitchen backsplash.
