What Is the File Extension RAF?
Photo files typically fall into three different categories: JPEGs, GIFs and TIFFs. Sometimes, if the file has been created in Photoshop, it will have the file extension .PSD. But some less-common classifications are also available, and one such extension is .RAF.
-
Fuji
-
.RAF files are image files taken with a specific kind of camera, a Fuji digital model, according to Fileinfo.com.
-
Compression
-
The .RAF file contains uncompressed material or image data. Sometimes, the file will include a .JPG version of the same photograph.
Conversion
-
The .RAF extension can be converted to .BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .PDF and .PSD, or other, less-common file types, such as .PCX (Paintbrush Bitmap Graphic) and .TGA (Truevision Targa Graphic), according to Imageconverterplus.com.
Enhancement
-
To free the file extension of bugs and potentially upgrade it to a new version of .RAF, you may want to run an .RAF scan. These can be found on such sites as Uniblue.com.
Picasa
-
To open .RAF files, access the free Google service Picasa. It can both open and print .RAF files. Other softwares can open .RAF files as well, including Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro.
