Bladder Stone Symptoms

Frequent urinary tract infections, an enlarged prostate or nerve damage in the surrounding region can lead to crystallized minerals, or stones, forming in your bladder. Although not all bladder stones produce symptoms, those that do can be quite noticeable and should be treated before they lead to more severe complications.

Painful Urination

Some stones may block the flow of urine or inflame the walls of the bladder, leading to painful urination or difficulty while urinating.

Changes in Urine

Bladder stones may cause other urine-related symptoms such as incontinence, as well as blood or dark-colored urine. Such symptoms require immediate medical attention.

Pain for Men

The size and texture of the bladder stone can cause varying degrees of painful symptoms. Men with large and sharp stones may experience excruciating pain or tenderness in the penis.

Abdominal Pain

Both men and women may also develop widespread pain throughout the lower abdominal region.

Frequent Urinating Urges

Some people with bladder stones may notice an increase in urinating urges, with frequent episodes usually occurring at night.
