Tambocor commonly causes constipation, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, headache, skin rash, blurred vision, depression or anxiety.

Tambocor has been shown to actually increase the chance of fatal arrhythmia in patients with structural heart disease such as a history of heart attack or left ventricular dysfunction, as well as patients with ventricular arrhythmia.

Tambocor went off-patent on February 10, 2004, and is now commercially available under the trade names Almartym, Apocard, Ecrinal and Flécaine, as well as being available in generic form.
