Actos is an anti diabetic medicine that is used to help control high blood sugar in Type 2 diabetics. It works on the body's response to insulin by restoring the body to its normal function and therefore reducing blood sugars.

    • This medicine has been known to cause menstrual periods to start after not having one for a long period of time. It also makes women more susceptible to bone fractures.

    Common Effects

    • Some common effects are sore throat, headache, muscle pain, runny nose and sneezing. If these persist or get worse, call a doctor.

    Serious Effects

    • Some serious effects are shortness of breath, chest pain, blurred vision, pale skin, swelling or quick weight gain. You should call the doctor if any of these symptoms occur.
