Nevada Tourism

Located in the southwestern United States, Nevada offers vacation delights for everyone. Urbanites can enjoy shows and casinos, sports enthusiasts can climb rocks and ski and nature lovers can marvel at the wildlife and backcountry.

Getting There

Among other cities, both Reno and Las Vegas Airports connect Nevada to the rest of the world. Amtrak's "California Zaphyr" train stops in Winnemuca, Sparks and Reno. Car travelers can take Interstate 80, Interstate 15 and Route 90.

Climate

Nevada is the driest state in the U.S., with average precipitation of 7.5 inches. Weather is generally sunny, with average temperatures in the mid-40s Fahrenheit in the Northeast, 50 degrees in the west and center and mid-60s in the south.

Cities

Las Vegas is a well-known mecca for gambling and nightlife. Reno offers 18 ski resorts within an hour by car. Laughlin's location on the Colorado River boasts water sports.

Backcountry

Explore more than 110,000 square miles of desert, mountains, valleys, rivers and lakes, with activities like fishing, horseback riding, camping, snowmobiling and hunting.
