What Is the Ziebart Rust Proofing Material?

The buildup of rust and other road abrasives is a major problem on many vehicles, especially those in areas prone to wet conditions. One solution to help limit this problem is the Ziebart brand of rust protection.

  1. Application

    • Ziebart rust-proofing material is applied to keep rust from forming on the structure of a vehicle. It is applied as a sealant underneath the body, which helps prevent the buildup of contaminants from the weather and the road.

    Protection

    • In addition to the underbody sealant, an additional layer of protection can be targeted onto areas prone to corrosive problems such as joins and rivets.

    Environment

    • A common cause of vehicle wear is salt and moisture found in northern and coastal environments. Ziebart protection helps form a layer that keeps these abrasives away from the metal body.

    Rust

    • Because oxygen is needed for rust to form, Ziebart sealants help limit the amount of metal on a vehicle is exposed to air. If air cannot reach the frame, rust cannot form.

    Inspection

    • Beyond the first application, Ziebart rust proofing locations inspect the material on a yearly basis. This allows the sealant to be reapplied as needed.
