FDA Oregano Capsule Side Effects

Oregano capsules have not been approved by the FDA, but they has been declared safe by them. It is an herb known also as marjoram. It has been widely used in cooking, and it is a spicy herb sold as fresh or dried. It is a member of the mint family and has a pungent smell and taste. It has mostly been tested on animals and not humans except for a very small study.

    • The side effects of oregano pills are facial swelling, trouble breathing, itching, and trouble talking or swallowing. If you experience any of these problems seek medical attention.

    Uses

    • Oregano capsules are used as an antiseptic, antifungal, and antioxidant. They have also been used as a home remedy to treat gas.

    Precautions

    • You should not take oregano capsules if you have ever had a reaction to thyme, hyssop, mint, basil or sage.

    Storage

    • It is important to store oregano properly while taking it. It should not be stored in damp areas.

    Dosing

    • Oregano capsules can be used as a supplement with meals or the oil can be mixed with milk and juice. You can also add some to shampoo or apply directly to a part of your body that is infected.
