Fritz 9 is optimized for play on a PC with a 2.2 GHz Pentium IV processor and 256MB of RAM. The use of Windows XP and a GeForce5 graphics card is also required to get the best looking visuals from the game.

The visual look of Fritz 9 includes a 3D gaming area where players use the mouse to physically manipulate the pieces. Included is a physics engine that allows the pieces on the board to move and fall in real-time. These features are highlighted by having a PC that exceeds the system requirements of the game.

Fritz 9 includes recreations of one million chess games played since 1625. These can be used by players to learn different strategies from chess masters. Training and evaluations of play style are also included.
History

Fritz 9 was released in December of 2005 for the PC. The game was developed by ChessBase and published by Excalibur. The game is based on the chess software that competed against Chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov.
