Effects of Soma

Soma, or carisoprodol, is a muscle relaxer used to treat pain resulting from injuries or other chronic conditions. Soma is often used temporarily in combination with physical therapy.

    Immediate Effects

  1. Aside from pain and hypertension relief, a typical dose of Soma can provide relief from anxiety and can cause sedation or tiredness.
  2. Side Effects

  3. Less common side effects of Soma include paralysis, fainting, loss of coordination, insomnia, headache or depression.
  4. Considerations

  5. Soma has been shown to be habit forming with prolonged use, and significant withdrawal symptoms can occur if you suddenly stop taking Soma.
  6. Overdose

  7. An overdose of Soma can cause difficult breathing, quick heartbeat, hallucinations or seizures. Always take prescribed dosage to avoid an overdose.
  8. Warning

  9. If you experience significant side effects or feel you have developed a dependence on Soma, you should talk with your doctor or seek immediate medical attention.
