What Is a K1 Visa?
The United States Department of State defines a K1 visa as a "Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiance(e)." A K1 visa is allows the fiancee of a United States citizen to enter the United States.

A fiance is a person who is engaged to be married legally to a U.S. citizen. Legal marriages are defined by the laws of the state in which the marriage will take place.

After the fiance has entered the United States, he must marry the U.S. citizen within 90 days.

Once the fiance gains a visa to the United States, he cannot re-enter the country on the initial K1 visa.
