Types of Aggressive Skating

Aggressive inline skating is an action sport that uses inline skates to complete a variety of tricks. The sport has three distinct styles of skating: street, vert and park.

What is Aggressive Skating?

Aggressive inline skating was developed into a sport in the early 1990s. Inline skating gained popularity during that decade and was featured as an X Games event from 1995 to 2005.

Types of Aggressive Skating

Inline skating can be broken into three styles: street, vert and park. Each style is dependent on the type of obstacles facing the skaters and the tricks they can complete.

Street Skating

Street skating, also known as freestyle skating, involves the use of everyday obstacles. Skaters complete tricks by using hand rails, stairs and other elements in the environment.

Park Skating

Park inline skating is confined to skate parks. Skaters have the ability to chain tricks together and focus more on their technical ability.

Vert Skating

Vert skating is a type of inline skating that uses a vert ramp. The use of the ramp allows the skaters to build speed and height so they can complete more difficult tricks, such as backflips.
