Aspirin is a popular treatment for arthritis in humans and dogs alike due to it's anti-inflammatory properties. Aspirin also costs less than some prescribed canine arthritis medications.

Warnings

Consult a veterinarian before administering aspirin to any dog, as too large of a dose can be toxic to a dog even if it is baby aspirin. Never give a dog Tylenol, Advil or similar products in place of real aspirin as they can be toxic. Aspirin is not for young dogs and must be given with food to avoid stomach problems.
