What Causes Skin Discoloration Under the Eyes?
Under-eye skin discoloration can make the eyes appear tired, saggy and older than they really are. There are many reasons that the under-eye skin can became discolored, some of which can be remedied. Does this Spark an idea?

Lack of Sleep

The body needs at least 8 hours of sleep in order to work correctly. Lack of sleep can produce dark circles under the eyes that can be alleviated through more rest.

Malnutrition

Depletion of certain vitamins and minerals, such as iron and vitamin B12, can cause discoloration under the eyes. Taking a multivitamin over a period of weeks will reduce the circles.
Allergies

Allergies can leave the sinus cavity inflamed and irritated, causing dark circles and discoloration. Taking an antihistamine medication can reduce allergy-related dark circles under the eyes.
Skin Sensitivity

Repeated exposure to strong eye creams that contain wrinkle-fighting chemicals can sometimes cause the skin to become irritated and discolored. Reducing the use of reactive creams will improve the dark areas.
Heredity

Heredity can be the cause of under-eye discoloration in some people. This type of cause does not have a remedy and will not improve with more sleep or vitamins.
