- Have children create their own Ten Commandments. Tear paper in the shape of tablets, crumple them and soak them in tea water to give them a "parchment" look. When dry, children can "inscribe" the laws.
- Adapt the verses of the Ten Commandments to a catchy children's tune and lead a sing-a-long.
- Print the laws and cut them out. Ask children to organize them by priority. Then discuss what the laws mean to each child and review their order in the Bible.
- To build creativity, allow children to sculpt their own tablets with colorful clay. Then engrave the key words of each commandment with a toothpick.
- Form a visual aid and recreate the classic memory game. Write out the commandments on 10 card-stock squares, and on the other 10 squares draw, glue or print a photo that represents each commandment. The child with the most matches wins.
- To conclude Ten Commandments lessons, challenge children with a simple fill-in-the-blank quiz.
