What Is a Peugeot 206 XS?

The Peugeot 206 XS is one of the trims of the Peugeot 206. It is part of a family of subcompact cars that French automaker Peugeot started making in 1998.

The Peugeot 206 XS is usually of a hatchback design; 206s are also available as sedans, convertibles and station wagons.

Engine and Transmission

The 206 XS has a four-cylinder engine capable of a braking horsepower of 207. It comes with a standard manual transmission with a front-wheel drivetrain, although an automatic transmission is available.

Use

The Peugeot 206 SX, just like its siblings, is used for racing events, particularly rallying events organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It can also be spotted in racing video games, notably Sony Playstation's "Gran Turismo" Series.

Iran Khodro

In 2005, Iran-based automaker Iran Khodro gained license from Peugeot to manufacture 206s. The following year, Khodro began to export a newer version of the 206, the SD (sedan) to 39 countries across the world.

Success

The Peugeot 206 is one of the automaker's most successful cars. It is due to cease production altogether in 2010.
