Magnetic Healing Information
Magnets have been used for centuries to heal a wide variety of ailments. Both static magnets and electromagnets are widely used today with most research being done using electromagnets.

How Magnetic Healing Works
-
According to the Mayo Clinic, one theory is that static magnets work by changing how cells in the body function. Another theory is that because magnets contain iron, blood may be a conductor of magnetic energy.
Types of Magnets
-
There are two types of magnets used. Static magnets are worn as bracelets, shoe inserts, head wear, mattress pad covers and more; electromagnets are most often used in chronic pain research.
-
Uses
-
Magnets are used to treat fibromyalgia, respiratory problems, stress, high blood pressure and other conditions.
For Chronic Pain
-
Electromagnetic therapy has been used successfully for over 25 years to treat bone fractures that do not heal well. A Mayo Clinic study shows that transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) may be beneficial for fibromyalgia pain.
Clinical Opinion
-
According to the Mayo Clinic, electromagnets may have the potential to treat depression. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is being studied to treat people for whom standard therapies have failed.
FDA Approval
-
In 1979, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of electromagnetic therapy for treating some types of bone fractures.
