Requirements for Working on Disney Cruise Ships

  1. Age

    • To work on a Disney ship, you must be at least 21 years old.

    Contracts

    • Employees must be willing to sign a minimum six-month contract. You will be working 70-hour weeks and working seven days a week in a fast-paced environment.

    Language Skills/Citizenship

    • All employees must be fluent in conversational English. A passport and any visas that are needed to work for Disney Cruise Line are the responsibility of the employee.

    Experience

    • Disney Cruise Line requires at least two years experience in the job for which you are applying, although that experience doesn't necessarily need to be on a cruise ship.

    Opportunities

    • Some of the employment opportunities include food and beverage, housekeeping, entertainment, youth activities, engineering and deck positions.

    Castaway Cay

    • Castaway Cay is Disney's privately owned island in the Bahamas. Although there is a small staff that lives on the island, the crew of the cruise ship also works there while the ship is in port.
