What Are the Treatments for Enlarged Pores?

When the pores of the skin are enlarged, oils, dirt, and bacteria can become trapped inside them. This can result in acne pustules and cysts. In order to eliminate this problem, it is important to use treatments that will help shrink enlarged pores. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Baking Soda

    • Baking soda is extremely alkaline and will both tighten the pores and remove dead skin cells. Massage a paste of baking soda and water onto the skin for 30 seconds; then rinse.

    Egg Whites

    • Egg whites contain proteins, vitamins, minerals and enzymes that improve skin tone on the face and shrink enlarged pores. Apply two whipped egg whites to the face and allow to dry; then rinse with warm water.

    Olive Oil

    • Olive oil is a noncomedogenic oil that will bond to the oils in the pores, pulling them out and clearing the skin. Once the pores are clear, they can shrink back down to their normal size. Olive oil can be massaged into the skin for two minutes, then a steaming cloth should be draped over the face. After the cloth cools, wipe away the excess oil.

    Lemon Juice

    • Lemon juice is highly acidic and kills bacteria as well as closing up enlarged or inflamed pores. Spray the skin with lemon juice after washing, and allow it to air dry on the skin.

    Aloe Vera Gel

    • Aloe vera gel is soothing and cleansing. When applied to the skin as a moisturizer, aloe vera gel will tighten the pores and prevent impurities form entering the skin.
