Infected Gall Bladder Symptoms

Cholecystitis is a condition that occurs when the gallbladder becomes inflamed and infected. The gallbladder is a small organ underneath the liver that is responsible for storing excess bile. Cholecystitis may occur as the result of gallstones, infections, tumors and injuries. In many cases cholecystitis is treated by surgically removing the gallbladder.

    Pain

  1. When your gallbladder is infected, pain will be felt in the upper right abdominal region. The pain may gradually get worse and may extend to your back and shoulders. The abdominal area may also be tender to the touch.
  2. Fever

  3. An infected gallbladder often causes you to develop a fever and chills.
  4. Stomach Symptoms

  5. When your gallbladder is infected, appetite may be poor. Also, you may experience nausea, bloating and vomiting.
  6. Other Symptoms

  7. An infected gallbladder may also cause you to sweat more than normal. Symptoms of gallbladder infections may be worse after eating.
  8. Time Frame

  9. If you suspect you have a gallbladder infection, you should seek medical treatment right away to prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of the body.
