If you are considering making your own cards for the holidays, you'll need some supplies. You can find inexpensive card-making supplies at your craft store to make great cards and gifts.

    Cardstock

  1. Cardstock, the base for cards, notes and envelopes, can be purchased in books, in packs or individually. Add your own patterns and designs to plain cardstock.
  2. Stickers

  3. Get creative with stickers on your cards and envelopes. Stickers can be purchased by sheets or in bulk packages in an array of designs, characters, patterns and symbols.
  4. Markers and Pens

  5. Markers, pens, colored pencils and all other writing utensils must be acid-free if you are using photographs on your cards. To save money, you don't need to buy the more expensive name brands.
  6. Embellishments

  7. Charms and other embellishments come in packs as well as in bulk, giving you a wide range of choices in a money-saving larger size. Buttons and jewelry charms can also be used.
  8. Adhesives

  9. Use acid-free glues and adhesives when putting photographs on your cards. Rolls of self-stick backing adhesive can be cut to size, which is cheaper than purchasing precut adhesives. Liquid glue, glue sticks and spray-on glue come in large sizes and multipacks that will save you money.
