Types of Dice

There are numerous types of dice. As well as different types, dice also have different uses. The types of dice include regular or standard, crooked, promotional, precision and polyhedral dice.

  1. Regular or Standard

    • Regular or standard dice have six sides and have the numbers one to six on each side. For these dice to roll easily, they have rounded corners and recessed spots. These are the dice most people use when playing games.

    Crooked

    • Most of the time, the user fixes crooked dice. They might have additional weight added to them or less weight to fix the outcome. Professional gamblers have been using them for years.

    Precision

    • Casinos have used precision or perfect dice for a long time. As their name suggests these dice are as close to perfect as they can be because casinos aren't taking any chances because everyone is playing for money. Usually, backgammon dice are also precision dice.

    Promotional

    • Many companies use promotional dice. These are dice with the company's logo on them. Other than that, they look like normal or standard dice, although some companies go a step further and make the dice look different too.

    Polyhedral

    • Many role-playing games use polyhedral dice and usually have more or less sides than ordinary dice. These dice don't always have numbers on them; they might have pictures or symbols.
