Signs & Symptoms of Premature Dementia
Dementia has many names. Of these, there is Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementias, Parkinson disease, Lewy body dementia, alcohol related dementia and Pick disease. Just like the varying diseases, the signs and symptom of premature dementia can vary according the type of disease. While it is used to be known as an old age disease, that is no longer the case. Premature dementia relates simply to the stage of the disease that can strike at any age.

Muscles

Muscle spasms and twitching is a condition commonly known as myoclonus. This symptom more often affects people that have early onset of Alzheimer's.
Limb Stiffness

Those that suffer from dementia resulting from Parkinson's disease suffer from stiffness in their limbs. This causes the person to have a type of shuffling gait when he walks.

Memory Loss

In many types of dementia related diseases, premature onset of the disease is accompanied with the loss of some memory functions. Repeating the same questions again and again, and forgetting things that need to be done are also symptoms of the onset of premature dementia.
Behavior Disorders

In some dementia patients the premature onset can show itself in a person losing interest in day-to-day activities, sitting in one position for hours and forgetting how to do even the simplest tasks.
Communication

Some people suffering from premature dementia have difficulty communicating because of the inability to formulate thoughts into sentences and words.
Depression

A person suffering from dementia might show symptoms of agitation, anxiety and depression. Some patients may also show symptoms of delirium and have visual hallucinations because the frontotemporal region of the brain is affected.
