Mestonin is a cholinesterase inhibitor that's available in either a tablet form or as a oral syrup. It's the main treatment for a condition known as myasthenia gravis. Before you take Mestonin, you should be aware of certain side effects.

If you're pregnant or breast-feeding, you should talk with your doctor before taking Metonin. Your child can experience the same side effects while you're taking the medication.

To reduce the chances of developing any Mestonin side effects, you should follow the dosage on the medication and also take each pill with food such as with meals.

Severe Side Effects

Severe side effects of Metonin include hair loss, rashes on the skin, muscle pain, difficulty swallowing and increased heart rate. If you experience any of these side effects, you should consult a doctor.
Fluid Increases

When taking Metonin, you may notice that you experience an increase in your saliva and in your tears. You may also discover that your eyes leak slightly due to the high level of tears.
Flu Like Side Effects

There are certain flu like side effects associated with Metonin, including flushing, fever, muscle pain, headache, respiratory problems and difficulty swallowing.
