Different Beach Wedding Motifs
Few settings are more romantic than a beach at sunset, and many couples choose to exchange their views in this picturesque setting. Many of these brides and grooms also add some extra pop to their celebrations by establishing a theme for their beach wedding.
-
Ocean
-
A bride can base her beach wedding motif on the sea. With sea blues and greens featuring predominantly in the color scheme and fish and seafood on the menu, a bride can tie the ocean theme into all parts of her wedding.
Tropical
-
Hire tropical dancers for the reception, and feature plenty of tropical flowers in the bouquets and arrangements for a tropical-themed beach wedding. Ask guests to dress appropriately in colorful dresses and Hawaiian shirts for the occasion.
-
Elegant
-
A beach wedding can retain all of the grandeur and pomp of an elegant church wedding and simply trade stained-glass windows for gorgeous ocean views. A bride can still wear a floor-length dress, have traditional flower arrangements and walk down a sandy aisle to the familiar sounds of "Here Comes the Bride."
Nautical
-
With the ocean mere steps away, you can incorporate the themes of pirates and sailors into a beach wedding. Have bridesmaids wear sailor hats or perch a parrot on the shoulder of the minister. Incorporate life buoys, oars and miniature boats into centerpieces and flower arrangements.
Famous Ties
-
Model Heidi Klum and singer Seal tied the knot in a ceremony on a Mexican beach surrounded by friends and family at their destination beach wedding in 2003.
