Types of Rose Bushes
Roses are undoubtedly one of the most popular flowers in the world due to their graceful beauty and fragrant nature. There are about four basic types of roses that have been grafted and developed into numerous varieties of almost every color imaginable. Does this Spark an idea?

History
-
According to the book "What Flower is That?," by Stirling Macoboy, "Roses of one sort or another have been cultivated for at least 5,000 years, making them the best-loved flower in history."
Old-Fashioned Roses
-
There are many varieties of old fashioned or antique roses that are originals of "wild" roses or roses that were around before the late 1800s. The majority are native to Europe and Asia. However, a few originated in the United States.

Modern Roses
-
More than 250 wild species have been identified and used to create modern hybrid tea roses and floribunda varieties, according to Macoboy.
Hybrid Tea Roses
-
Hybrid tea roses with their large symmetrical blossoms and long stems are one of the most popular rose varieties. Hybrid tea roses come in many colors. Varieties include the pink and coral-colored Sedona Hybrid Tea Rose.
Floribunda Roses
-
Floribunda type roses produce large clusters of blossoms and are relatively easy to grow. However, floribunda roses do not bloom continuously as do hybrid tea roses. Varieties include one called Sweet Intoxication.
Miniature Roses
-
Miniature or fairy roses are also gaining popularity because they can be planted in pots and window boxes. As their name implies, the blossoms these bushes produce are much smaller than those of hybrids or floribundas.
