Mysoline Side Effects

Mysoline is an anticonvulsant medication that can only be prescribed by a doctor. Mysoline is most often used to treat epilepsy and other seizure disorders. Contact your doctor if you think mysoline may help your condition.

  1. Indications

    • Mysoline is intended for use as an anticonvulsant and can be taken by both adults and children. Your mysoline dose will be gradually increased by your doctor over the first few months of your treatment.

    Directions

    • For adults and children over eight, most patients take between three and four 250mg tablets per day, divided into multiple doses throughout the day. Take mysoline exactly as indicated by your doctor and do not miss doses.

    Side Effects

    • The most common side effects of mysoline include vertigo and lack of coordination, although this may even out as your dose is managed by your doctor. You may also experience dizziness, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, impotency and fatigue.

    Considerations

    • If any negative side effects from mysoline outweigh the benefits from the medication, contact your doctor who may be able to place you on a different anticonvulsant medication.

    Warning

    • Taking mysoline may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts in some patients. If you are feeling suicidal, call 911 or 1-800-SUICIDE immediately.
