How Long Is a Drivers Permit Good for in Florida?
The state of Florida offers teen drivers a license in three stages, a Learner's License (similar to other state's driver's permit), an Intermediate License and a Full Privilege License. Parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18.

Age

You must be at least 15 years old to obtain a Learner's License in Florida. You must pass hearing and vision tests.
Identification

Two forms of identification are required, one primary (which includes a birth date) and one secondary. A list of acceptable types of identification is available on the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website (see Resources).

Written Test

A written test is given to obtain a Learner's License. It consists of 20 questions on road signs and 20 questions on rules of the road.
Restrictions

A new driver with a Learner's License can only drive in daylight hours for the first three months and always with a front-seat passenger older than 21.
Driving Test

After holding a Learner's License for at least one year, and having driven at least 50 hours (10 of the hours at night), you may take a road test. If you pass, you'll obtain an Intermediate License. Full driving privileges are awarded at age 18.
Renewal
