Reasons to Go to Las Vegas for Tourism

Las Vegas is well-known for its games of chance, but the city has plenty more to see and do. Take a break from the slot machines and try some other fun activities.

Gambling

As the gambling mecca of the United States, all the standards can be found in Las Vegas, including slots, blackjack, craps, roulette, poker and more.

Entertainment

The city has several shows from the famed French-Canadian circus troupe known as Cirque du Soleil. You can also try a magic show by Penn & Teller or Lance Burton. Variety shows include American Superstars and Blue Man Group.

Dining

Las Vegas has become quite famous in recent years for its restaurants and celebrity chefs such as Thomas Keller and Emeril Lagasse offer dining options on the Strip.

Nature

If you enjoy scenic wonders, try Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire State Park. Both are in the vicinity of Sin City and provide plenty of views, hikes and exhibits.

History

Visit Hoover Dam and see how the mammoth structure was built in the early 20th century to accommodate the growth of the region. Try the Atomic Testing Museum to learn more about the nuclear testing that was completed in the desert north of Las Vegas in the mid-1900s.
