- Potential Army Reservists must be between the ages of 17 and 39.
- Reservist must be U.S. citizen or have a Permanent Resident Visa INS I-151/I-551 to be eligible for enlistment. Visa holders can enlist for only one enlistment unless they become naturalized U.S. citizens or obtain a waiver.
- Reservist must be physically fit and pass a physical exam before becoming eligible for enlistment.
- Reservist must have at least a GED to enter the Army but a high school diploma is preferred.
- Enlisting in the Army Reserves requires you to pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. If an Army Reserve recruit has a criminal record, he or she is individually evaluated and may qualify to receive a waiver
