- Asiatic lilies are hardy, pest-resistant plants. Asiatics bloom from late June through August and usually bear 3 to 12 flowers on each stem.
- Oriental lilies are late bloomers, flowering from August through September in most zones. These aromatic lilies have 6 to 12 open-faced blossoms in various shades of red, pink, white and yellow.
- Martagon lilies are hybrids with dainty, down-facing flowers. Martagon lilies prefer shady areas.
- Tiger lilies have large, orange blooms that are covered with dark spots. These lilies are sometimes called ditch lilies because they grow well in and around ditches.
- Trumpet lilies are tall, fragrant flowers often planted against fences or buildings. These lilies are not as hardy as other types of lilies.
- LA lilies are a hybrid of Easter lilies and Asiatic lilies. This type of lily has very large flowers and a long blooming life.
