Requirements Needed to Become a Flight Attendant
Many people strive to become a flight attendant, making it one of the most competitive jobs in the marketplace. Though each airline has specific hiring standards, generally, hopeful flight attendants should meet the following requirements to be considered for a position.

Customer Service

Candidates should have a minimum of two years customer service experience. As a flight attendant you are considered a "front-line employee" and are always in front of the customer. Having at least two years experience will enable you to better deal with customer situations.
Flexibility

Ensure your schedule is flexible. As a new hire flight attendant you may be called upon to fly on your scheduled days off or be re-routed to another city while working to stop a flight from being cancelled.

Mobility

After flight attendant training is completed, depending upon the size of the airline, you may be "based" (the city in which you start/end your flights) out of a city in which you don't currently live. Being able to relocate to your "base" city will save you the hassle of flying to work before flying for work.
Training

Before anyone can become a flight attendant, he must pass Initial Ground Training. This training program is designed to prepare you for emergency, customer and irregular situations.
Training Flight

After Initial Ground Training is completed all flight attendant candidates must complete their "Initial Operating Experience" or "IOE." This is a training flight in which a qualified flight attendant observes you put into place the skills and procedures you learned in training and ensures they are carried out correctly.
