Argentina Horned Frog Habitat Information

Argentine Horned Frogs (also commonly referred to as Pacman, Ornate Horned, Argentine Wide-mouth and Bell Frogs) are popular pets, due in part to their colorful markings and unique appearance.

Geography

As the name implies, Argentine Horned Frogs are found primarily in Argentina, though their range does extend out to Uruguay and Brazil.

Climate

Argentine Horned Frogs live in rainforests and temperate forests of South America. They thrive in warm areas with high humidity.

Features

One feature that Argentine Horned Frog habitats have in common is an abundance of shallow water. These frogs are adapted for survival in damp environments.

Food Sources

An Argentine Horned Frog will eat almost anything in its habitat it can swallow, including fish, birds, reptiles, other frogs and even small mammals.

Fun Fact

Argentine Horned Frogs get their "Pacman" name from their large mouth and rounded face, which resembles the arcade game character of the same name.
