What Is a PowerPoint Template?

Many business managers and students use Microsoft PowerPoint when they need to make an important presentation before a group. The software gives you the option to use and create convenient templates.

Identification

A PowerPoint template is a slide design that has already been created by the program. You can sort through the templates that are available by simply clicking the button to create a "New Presentation" on the PowerPoint menu.

Function

A template is set up so that the user can simply drop in text and images in predetermined slots on the slide. Then the user can simply add a new slide and repeat the process to create the presentation.

A user can create his own custom template. Simply create a new blank presentation, click the "View" menu button and then click "Slide Master." Drop in images and text, and then close the master view to use your new template.
