Types of Vans

Vans can serve a variety of purposes. Since vans are larger than most cars and provide enclosed cargo space, they can be ideal for transporting large number of passengers or cargo that should not be exposed to the elements, as it would be in a truck bed.

    Minivans

  1. Minivans can generally accommodate seven passengers. These vans generally have bucket seats for the driver and passenger and bench seats or a combination of bench and bucket seats to accommodate passengers in the rear of the van.
  2. Passenger Vans

  3. Passenger vans can accommodate 12 to 16 passengers. The vans usually have a single seat for the driver, a single seat for one passenger next to the driver and bench seats to accommodate passengers behind the front seats.
  4. Conversion Vans

  5. Conversion vans are large passenger vans designed with comfort and convenience in mind. They can generally accommodate seven passengers comfortably and can be outfitted with luxury details like entertainment systems a third-row seat that can be converted into a bed.
  6. Cargo Vans

  7. Cargo vans generally have two seats -- a driver's seat and a passenger's seat. The area behind the two seats is left open so that the van can be used to transport cargo in an enclosed space.
  8. Accessible Vans

  9. Accessible vans can accommodate passengers who must use wheelchairs or scooters for mobility. Minivans or conversion vans outfitted with ramp and lift systems can serve as accessible vans.
