Rosarito, in Baja, Mexico, is a 20-minute drive south of the Tijuana border and a 30-minute drive from San Diego, California. Vacationers will find miles of pristine beaches and Pacific Ocean waters. Surfers, adventurers, partiers and those who wish to sit back and relax will enjoy all that Rosarito beach has to offer.

    History

  1. The Baja peninsula was once home to many different Indian tribes until the Spanish arrived in 1553. Rosarito's first settlers were the Kumiai Indians.

  3. United States citizens do not need a passport to get into Mexico from the U.S.; however, they will need proof of identity upon returning. The required documents for re-entry by land include a passport, trusted traveler card, enhanced driver's license or a passport card.

  5. English is spoken at all the major tourist areas in Rosarito.
  6. Toll Roads

  7. Each of the toll roads leading into Rosarito are equipped to handle emergencies. These highways are regularly checked by the police and there is an emergency phone located every mile on different sides of the road. Patrols increase during the nighttime hours.
  8. Fun Facts

  9. Hollywood stars often would vacation in Rosarito during the United States Prohibition period. The famous film, "Titanic," was produced in Rosarito.
