Honey, because of its antibacterial properties, has proven to be a natural cure for acne. Although many people spend exorbitant amounts of money on high-end acne products, the real cure may be in your kitchen cupboard.
Honey is a natural antibacterial and natural antiseptic. Essentially, honey kills the bacteria that cause acne.
Honey also contains natural humectants, so although acne washes will kill bacteria and dry up pimples by literally drying out your skin, honey will kill bacteria and help your skin keeps its natural moisture.
Honey, taken internally, can be another way to fight acne from the inside out. Water is also great for flushing out toxins and leaving your skin beautiful. Try mixing a bit of honey into some hot water in the morning as a cleansing morning ritual.
For an acne mask, apply pure raw honey to a freshly cleansed face. Keep it on for 10 minutes, and then simply rinse off with water.
Honey stored in an airtight container will never spoil. Sealed containers of honey that were found in King Tut's tomb are still edible after 2,000 years. So go ahead, stock up on it.
