Lacrosse Rules
Lacrosse is an action-packed, fast-paced sport played by men, women, boys and girls. Thought of as America's first sport, lacrosse rewards teamwork, agility and conditioning. Lacrosse has become so popular there is now a professional lacrosse league, the MLL (Major League Lacrosse). These are rules that have been implemented.

Field
-
The standard professional lacrosse field is 60 yards wide and 110 yards long. Major League Lacrosse also has the two-point arc, which is 16 yards from the center of the goal line. A two-point goal can be scored if a player has both feet behind the line before shooting the ball.
Time Frame
-
At the men's professional level, the game is divided into four 15-minute quarters. The MLL increases spectator excitement by implementing a 60-second shot clock. Halftime is 10 minutes long and there are two-minute breaks between the other two quarters.

Timeouts and Injuries
-
Timeouts can be called during any live ball play anywhere on the field. The referee will call timeout when an injury happens on the field. This type of timeout is not charged to either team.
Penalty Time
-
Penalty time does not start until the whistle blows; that way the play clock and penalty clock run together.
Substitutions
-
Substitutions are done "on the fly" or at any time during game play. Substitutions must be done at the scorer's table except after a goal is scored.
Obscene Language
-
No obscene language is allowed and is punishable by a two-minute penalty.
