Save

Although some women do not experience morning sickness, most pregnant women do. Morning sickness is caused by a heavy increase in hormones throughout a pregnant woman's body. This increase causes women to become nauseated throughout the day. Most women experience this problem in the morning. It gradually goes away throughout the day. Some women have it all day--others only at night.

First Signs

Period

Do's and Don'ts

  • Eat saltine crackers in the morning. Eat five small meals instead of three large ones and avoid skipping meals. Open windows to allow fresh air in and drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Lie down after you eat or eat spicy food.
